A vigorous heavy cropping tree. Very pretty with purple leaves and purple flowers.
very pretty fruit. Medium sized, round and dark red. The flesh is stained red inside and is sweet, soft and juicy.
Also sometimes described as a dessert apple, but best for cooking or cider because of its soft texture.
There are a number of selections of this tree, and it may be worth making separate entries in this directory for some of them. Thornhayes Nursery sells one from Redhill. Others have varying degrees of red/pink stained flesh.
