Information About the Upton Pyne

Origin: Topsham,Devon 1910
Growth Characteristics: Upright, heavy cropping, moderately vigorous tree. Flowering Period: 4
Disease Resistance: Can be prone to scab in damper conditions
Fruit: Large, oblong fruit. Golden yellow colour and striped pink. The flesh is crisp and juicy, sweet/sub acid and aromatic.
Picking Season: Late
Storage: To Feb
Uses: Dessert: A very tasty apple. Culinary:Cooks to a puree, with a brisk taste and a hint of pineapple.
Recommendations: Raised by George Pyne of Topsham and introduced in 1910.
