Kea

Originating from the Kea district of Truro. It was traditionally propagated from suckers.

The fruit is small and not much larger than damsons, being round and dark blue to black in colour.

Juicy and slightly acid. Good to eat but best for preserving. Self fertile

There is another similar seedling originating from the Kea area. Tgis one has red skin with numerous yellow dots, and earlier picking season. It is known as Red Kea
